The Regional Perinatal Center, in conjunction with the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, provides the highest level of care to pregnant women throughout their pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum period, and to their babies. Prenatal transport of high risk women and newborns to this service at Robert Wood John son University Hospital is a frequent occurrence. Labor and Delivery has 7 labor rooms, a 2-bed PACU, and 3 ORs. There is a separate 5-bed Antepartum Loft for triage and outpatient procedures related to pregnancy. There are 20 beds on our Antepartum/Postpartum unit, and 8 postpartum beds on our mother-baby unit. Both units have a nursery which provides care to full term newborns.
A minimum of 1-2 years of Pediatric Nursing Care experience is required to be successful in this role.
