Responsible for the management of a comprehensive credentialing program for medical staff, residents, fellows and advanced practice allied health professionals to include appointment, reappointment, privileging and provisional status to ensure accurate and timely credentialing for prospective and current members of the Medical Staff. Serve a lead role in presenting the medical staff component for the Joint Commission of Healthcare Organization (JCAHO) sruveys and other regulatory agencies to ensure continued accreditation. Work closely with medical staff leaders, hospital administration and risk management on matters related to medical affairs and physician relations, and by laws. Serve an integral role in the development and implementation of initiatives, programs and services which impact practice development for RWJUH physicians. Oversee the daily operations of the Medical Administration department inclusive of staff development, performance improvement and budget preparation. Provide leadership in promoting the pillars of RWJUH in areas of finance, quality, service and growth.
Bachelor's degree in health related field/ business adminstration or management required; Master's degree preferred. CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) is required. CPCS and CPMSM (Certified Provider Medical Services/ Management) preferred. A minimum of 5 years medical credentialing experience in a leadership role at a large academic mecical center setting is required. Knowledge of and experience with computer applications is needed. A highly motivated and organized individual with superior comunication, interpersonal and leadership skills is necessary to meet success in this role. Assignments are planned and executed with considerable independence in conformance with established policies, regulations and laws.
