Cancer Registry Staff
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital maintains an electronic oncology data system in accordance with requirements of the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, the National Cancer Data Base, the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, and other regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Data are collected by RWJUH employees who are Certified Tumor Registrars (CTR) 
by the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA). The type of cancer, diagnostic findings, treatment information, and survival statistics are some of the data that are collected and used to understand the various forms of cancer on a local, state, and national level.
Important decisions about cancer research and development activities, program planning activities, and grant funding are made based on cancer registry data.
