RWJUH Nurses Recognized For Excellence by the March of Dimes

New Brunswick, NJ – Two Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital nurses have been honored for clinical excellence with Maternal Child Health Nurse Reality Awards from the March of Dimes New Jersey Chapter.

Christine Jimenez, RN, of East Brunswick, a mother/baby nurse, and Teresa Damito, RN, of Parlin, a labor and delivery nurse, were two of fifteen New Jersey nurses to receive an award. The awards will be presented March 9.

Christine Jimenez, who has been at RWJUH for four years, was selected for her pursuit of both work and life to the fullest and for her excellence in caring for patients. Teresa Damito’s award recognizes her efforts in the advancement of maternal child health nursing. She has worked at the hospital for six years.

The March of Dimes New Jersey Chapter’s mission includes supporting research on birth defects, prematurity and low birth weight; providing educational programs for healthcare professionals and the public; providing community services such as an online health education center; and supporting laws that protect mothers and children.

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is designated as a Regional Perinatal Center, the highest designation in the state’s scope of obstetric services, offering the latest technology to treat high-risk pregnancies as well as the most critically ill newborns. The Center’s renowned maternal-fetal medicine and neonatology specialists provide a full array of services and surgical support for mothers and babies.

The Center offers a neonatal intensive care unit, special care nursery, labor and delivery suites, and all private post-partum rooms featuring amenities such as refrigerators, DVD/VCR players, a private bathroom and sleeper-chairs that allow fathers or other family members to comfortably spend the night.
