Class of 2016

Angela Chung, DO, chief resident, is originally from Taipei, Taiwan, and came to US at a young age. She studied biology at Brooklyn College and went on to earn her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Chung has special interests in women’s health, integrative medicine, sports medicine, and sexually transmitted diseases. In her spare time, she enjoys science fiction, making jewelry ruling, and gaming.


Andrew Madaj, MD is originally from California. He received a bachelor’s degree in Biology at California State University, Long Beach. He went on to earn his medical degree from Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poland. He has special interests in sports medicine and preventative medicine.


Ian Martinez, MD, chief resident, is originally from Katy, Texas. He studied biomedical engineering at Texas A&M University, and went on to get his medical degree from University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas. Dr. Martinez has special interests in obstetrics, and pediatrics. In his spare time, he enjoys music, cooking, and spending time with his wife.


 

Shaili Shah, MD is originally from Thousand Oaks, CA. She attended the University of California, San Diego and earned a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology. She went on to the American University of the Caribbean for her medical degree. Dr. Shah has special interests in hospital medicine, and palliative care. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies, reading novels, dancing, and experimenting with new baking recipes.


Pareen Sheth, DO is originally from New Jersey. She earned a degree in Biological Sciences and Psychology from Rutgers University, and went on to earn her medical degree from UMDNJ School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Sheth has special interests in primary care and women’s health. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, dancing, and spontaneous adventures!


Elad Tennen, MD is originally from New Jersey. He attended Ramapo College in New Jersey where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology. He went on to earn his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Tennen has special interests in sports medicine, and primary care.


Opal Thakar, MD is a NJ native originally from Old Bridge. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Psychology at Drexel University in Philadelphia. Dr. Thakar went on to earn her medical degree from St. George’s Medical School in Grenada. She has special interests in preventative care, and outpatient medicine. In her free time, she enjoys reading and dancing.


Class of 2017

Brandis Belt, MD is a NJ native originally from South Orange. She attended Stanford University where she earned a degree in biological sciences. She then went on to earn her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Belt has special interests in international and community health. In her spare time, she enjoys writing fiction, reading books on art history, painting and drawing, fishing, and gardening.


Matthew Biernat, MD is originally from Los Angeles. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Biological Science from the University of California, Irvine. He went on to earn his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Biernat has special interests in preventive medicine. In his spare time, he loves skiing, running, and swimming.


Michael Green, MD is originally from Howard Beach, NY. He graduated from Adelphi University with a degree in Economics. He went on to pursue a graduate certificate in Healthy Policy and Management from NYU, and a Master’s degree in Cardiovascular Perfusion from Long Island University. He received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Green has special interests in health policy, and primary care. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, camping, and cars.


Yan Mei Luo, MD is originally from Long Island, NY. She received a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University in Biological sciences, and then went on to earn her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Luo has special interests in pediatrics and international medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys watching TV, outdoor activities, camping, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family


Amanda Marino, MD is a NJ native, originally from Piscataway. She graduated from Kean University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. She went on to earn her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Marino has special interests in maternity care, women’s health, and international medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, dancing, traveling, and spending time with her family.


Sweta Shah, DO is a NJ native, originally from Toms River. She graduated from The College of New Jersey with a degree in psychology and went on to earn her medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Shah has special interests in women’s health and preventative medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys watching TV, biking, traveling, and writing.


Kornelia Thomas, MD received her medical degree from Poznan University of Medical Sciences in Poland. Dr. Thomas has special interests in women’s health, and preventative medicine.


Class of 2018

Daniela Accurso, MD, MPH is a NJ native from Martinsville, NJ. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Seton Hall University and then went on to earn her MPH from New York University. She then attended St. Matthew’s University where she earned her medical degree. Dr. Accurso has special interests in preventative medicine, community medicine, and public health and policy. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, playing tennis, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.


Zhanna Ivanov, MD is originally from St. Petersburg, Russia. She came to Rutgers University in New Brunswick to earn her bachelor’s degree in biology and also had concentrated studies in physics and psychology. She earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Ivanov has varied interests that include chronic disease management, international medicine, endocrinology, cardiology, and gastroenterology. In her spare time she enjoys reading, running, and the study of world cultures.


Rina Mehta, MD is originally from Easton, PA. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and Spanish from Bryn Mawr College. She then went on to earn her medical degree from St. George’s University. Dr. Mehta has special interests in women’s health, global health, preventative medicine, and procedures. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, hiking, scuba, and improving her cooking skills.


Shobha Patil, MD is originally from Houston, Texas. She earned her undergraduate degree in biology and computer information system management from Houston Baptist University. She then attended Ross University School of Medicine where she earned her medical degree. Dr. Patil has special interests in outpatient and preventative medicine. In her spare time she enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.


Sayed Rohani, MD is a NJ native, originally from Dumont. He attended Fairleigh Dickinson University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. He then went on to earn his medical degree from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. Dr. Rohani has special interests in hospital medicine and international medicine. In his spare time he enjoys basketball, drawing, and writing and illustrating children’s books.


Taylor Shaker, MD is a NJ native from Washington Township, NJ. She studied biology at Ramapo College of NJ, and then went on to earn her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Shaker has special interests in obstetrics and gynecology. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, baking, and most importantly spending time with her husband and daughter.


Vanessa Tabaac, MD is originally from Lubbock, Texas. She earned a bachelors degree in biology at Texas Tech University. She then went on to earn her medical degree at American University of the Caribbean. Dr. Tabaac has special interests in global health and preventative care. In her spare time she enjoys long distance running and spending time with her husband.
