HealthHike Walking Program: Medication Management: At the Heart of Your Health, Wednesday, Feb. 1, 10 to 11 a.m., AMC Theatres at Bridgewater Commons mall. Sharan Mahal, MD, Somerset Medical Center interventional cardiologist and internist, will discuss the variety of cardiac medications, their role in your heart health, side effects and management strategies, such as consumption times, consistency and required food intake. ·Sleep and Your Heart, Thursday, Feb. 9, 6:30 to 8 p.m., Somerset Medical Center’s Fuld Auditorium, 110 Rehill Ave., Somerville. Learn how poor sleep affects the heart. ·Trouble with Triglycerides? Profile Your Cholesterol, Tuesday, Feb. 14, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Maggiano’s Little Italy, Bridgewater. Somerset Medical Center cardiologist Chandreshwar Shahi, MD, will discuss cholesterol and lipid panel test results, differences in fats, acceptable ranges, cause of high cholesterol levels, risk factors, treatments and natural remedies. ·What Does A Healthy Woman Look Like?, Saturday, Feb. 25, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Martinsville Inn. Hear an inspirational message from Jessica Melore, a young woman whose experiences with heart disease and a heart transplant are a true testament to how challenging life can be. Rachana Kulkarni, MD, chief of cardiology at Somerset Medical Center, will share the latest research about women and heart disease and will discuss what we can do to keep our hearts as healthy as possible.
