Douglas Ashinsky, MD, of Warren Internal Medicine, an affiliate of Somerset Medical Center, was recently named a 2013 Health IT Fellow by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. He is one of only three physicians in New Jersey and one of only 28 nationally to achieve this honor. As a Health IT Fellow, Dr. Ashinsky will help promote how health care providers can use health information technology to improve the delivery of care.
Dr. Ashinsky has been a leader in the use of health care information technology in his private practice. He was one of the first physicians in New Jersey to meet the federal government’s requirements for “meaningful use” of electronic medical records in 2011.
