Speech, Voice, and Swallowing Services

Adult services include:

  • Evaluation and therapy communication disorders resulting from stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease or bell’s palsy, and other neurological conditons 
  • Evaluation and therapy for dysarthria, aphasia, apraxia and cognitive-linguistic communication disorders
  • Post-laryngectomy communication
  • Augmentative and alternative communication

Audiological services, provided by Brian K. McClintock of NJ Hearing Center, include:

  • Complete adult and pediatric hearing evaluations
  • Auditory processing evaluations
  • Hearing aid services
  • Newborn hearing screening and follow up

Pediatric services include:

  • Evaluation and therapy for children with language delay/disorders, articulation disorders, fluency disorders (stuttering), apraxia, oral-motor disorders, developmental disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Central auditory processing/language processing remediation programs, including Earobics
  • Augmentative and alternative communication 

Voice services include:

  • Voice therapy designed to treat and/or cure a wide variety of voice disorders, including vocal cord paralysis, vocal nodules, polyps and ventricular phonation
  • Lee Silverman voice treatment for Parkinson's disease

Swallowing/dysphagia services include:

  • Modified barium swallow study, an X-ray test used to evaluate swallowing function
  • Therapeutic intervention, including conventional treatment techniques, VitalStim therapy  and teaching compensatory strategies and active treatment to improve and restore muscle strength, endurance and pharyngeal reflex functions necessary for proper swallow function
  • Fiberoptic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)
