RWJUH Names J.P. Morgan Executive Lester Owens to Board of Directors

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) has named Lester J. Owens to its Board of Directors.

Owens currently serves as a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan, where he is responsible for Wholesale Banking Operations across 34 countries and 23 domestic locations. In his current role, Owens manages a staff of more than 7,000 employees worldwide. His primary responsibility is managing one of the largest payment operations globally.

Before joining J.P. Morgan in 2007, Owens worked for Deutsche Bank as a Managing Director responsible for Global Cash and Trade Operations as well as serving on the Executive Committee for the Global Transaction Bank. During his eight years at Deutsche Bank, Owens played a pivotal role in developing and implementing a re-engineering strategy across Global Messaging, Service and Payment platforms.

Before joining Deutsche Bank, Owens was the Site Director at Citibank in Delaware, which included Nationwide Receivables, Check Clearing and Customer Investigations.  Prior to Citibank, Owens worked for Bankers Trust and Chemical Bank.

Owens earned his Bachelor of Arts from Long Island University and an Executive MBA from Farleigh Dickinson University. He also attended the Harvard University Executive Management program.

Owens is a co-chair for The Clearing House Payments Company board as well as a member of the Brooklyn Diocese Advisory Board “Futures in Education Foundation.” Previously, he was a board member for Long Island University.
