Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Director of Diversity and Inclusion to Participate in Rutgers Diversity Symposium

RWJ's Reggie Clark to Participate in "The State of Workforce Diversity 2013"

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) Director of Diversity and Inclusion Reggie Clark will be among the panelists participating in “The State of Workforce Diversity 2013,” a symposium presented by the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers University on April 23 at the Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick.

The symposium explores how today’s challenging economic environment  may lead companies, institutions, governmental organizations and non-profits to embrace new public policies, best practices and legal mandates to implement and sustain effective diversity strategies. In his role as Director of Diversity and Inclusion at RWJUH, Mr. Clark is charged with developing hospital-wide diversity and inclusion initiatives which include ongoing training, in-service and employee orientation programs and establishing several internal Employee Networking and Resource Groups for the 600-bed academic medical center, which has a workforce of more than 5,000 employees.

Mr. Clark came to RWJUH from Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY, where he served as Director and later Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion from 2008-2012. While there, Mr. Clark initiated and assisted in the development of the organization’s first institute-wide culture survey; conceived, established and supported ENRG (Employee Networking Resources Groups);  and developed  and executed training of all diversity-related subjects, including ADA, Title VII, Sexual Harassment Prevention and a curriculum of cultural sensitivity trainings.

Prior to his tenure at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, he served as Manager of Corporate Employment at Kaleida Health in Buffalo, NY and a Human Resources Representative at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, MN. He began his career in human resources as a Staffing Associate at the Anderson Corporation in Stillwater, MN.

Mr. Clark earned his Master’s of Science in Human Resources Development from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY and his Masters of Arts in Organizational Development (with an emphasis on Human Resources) from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Management from Concordia University as well.
 
In 2010, Mr. Clark earned the Bonny Butler Humanitarian Award (the University of Buffalo Service Award) and was a finalist for the Human Resources Professional Award, which is given by the Buffalo-Niagara Human Resources Association.
