Bob Craig of Bridgewater states, "I've always liked volunteering. Helping others is a key to life in general. My intent when I leave home is to make one person feel better. If I've done that, I have had a good day."
Over the past eight years, Craig has volunteered for more than 2,500 hours as a transporter for patients being discharged from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. In addition to the countless hours he has devoted to the hospital, Craig also is a valuable volunteer for many of Somerset Health Care Foundation's annual events. For the past five years he has been an assistant group leader at Music at Moorland as well as a ticket sales and traffic attendant at the Far Hills Races. He also spends a day each year at the Foundation's Golf Classic held at Trump National Golf Club-Bedminster where he monitors golfers vying for hole-in-one prizes.
"I love assisting with the Foundation's outstanding events," Craig says. "The Foundation staff is fun and energetic, and the camaraderie I feel as I work with my fellow event staff members is very special. They're all like family."
